In this session, we will discuss, from various perspectives, what the RIKEN BioResource Research Center (BRC) can contribute to health, environment, and food issues, etc. in the context of the SDGs. At the beginning of the session, the BRC Center Director will give a keynote speech outlining the activities at RIKEN BRC. This will be followed by a presentation by BRC researchers and several other experts on the cutting edge of research focusing on the role of microorganisms closely related to health and the environment, the role of plants closely related to food issues, and plant-microbe symbiosis in the development of sustainable agriculture. Through this session, we will deepen our discussion for the future direction of bioresource development, which is an important research platform for life sciences.
