The session highlights how science and technology have contributed to a more resilient society focusing on the capital region. Each audience is expected to understand roles of stakeholders including industry, government, academia and private sectors as well as himself/herself, which may change individual’s behavior to realize disaster resilience.

Since Mag.7-scale earthquakes are anticipated to strike the region with 70% probability within 30 years, the most important and pressing challenge is to make a more resilient capital region.

This session involves five young researchers engaged in disaster risk reduction and the president of an IT company (location big data). They will make presentations on their researches, activities and achievements which show how they are contributing to making a more resilient capital region. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A period from the audience.
