This hybrid (online and onsite) session assembles university researchers, social entrepreneurs, and local civil servants in order to shed light on the multimodality of today’s science in the mixed process of redefining what is normal in the name of the “new normal.” This process is also about what is and what is not included in the “new normal” time of transformation. While existing scientific knowledge has been seriously undermined by the unknown presented by COVID-19, mankind has been going though epistemic transformation as a result. In the absence of effective scientific solutions other than public health measures based on self-help, the digitalization of everyday life in human society has accelerated in the war against COVID-19 in this posthuman era. At this critical juncture of our time, it is vital for us to understand the accelerating multimodality of science based on digital technology and its impact across disciplines.
