For young researcher and engineers to create various innovations in the future, it is an important issue for universities, research institutes, and companies to realize an environment which ensured diversity and gender equality. However, we can easily find that the real situation is far from the ideal, especially in the case of gender equality in Japan. Therefore, we need to discuss how we realize it and what is necessary for that. In this session, focusing on gender equality, we will discuss the present situation of young researchers and engineers, and what is the "next step" for realizing gender equality in the future. For this purpose, we will invite Ms. Inga M.W. Nyhamar, Norway ambassador designate to Japan, as a keynote speaker and share the situation of Norway's gender equality and diversity promotion. Furthermore, we will invite Ms. Kumi Fujisawa, an expert as moderator for discussing with Ms. Inga M.W. Nyhamar regard about the next step to solve the issues on Japanese universities, research institutes, and companies.

多様な属性を有する若手研究者・技術者が、自らの能力を最大限発揮して活躍できる未来を描ける環境を作ることは、大学や研究機関、企業にとって重要な課題である。しかし、現状では、例えばジェンダーの課題に注目してみても、特に我が国においては男女共同参画すら実現されている状況には程遠い。

では、多様な属性を有する若手研究者・技術者が自分の未来を描けるためには何が求められるのか。本セッションでは、ダイバーシティ推進のなかでも特に「ジェンダー」という側面に焦点を当て、若手研究者・技術者を取り巻く現状とともに未来に向けて必要な次の一歩は何かを議論し、具体的な示唆を得ることを目的とする。

そのために、基調講演として世界でダイバーシティ推進の先頭に立つノルウェーの駐日大使Inga M.W. Nyhamar 氏から、ノルウェーでのダイバーシティ推進に関する歴史や理念、取組をご紹介いただく。さらに国内においてどのような理念や取組が求められるのかについて、国内外での幅広い知見を有する藤沢久美氏（ソフィアバンク代表）をモデレーターとして招き、Inga M.W. Nyhamar 氏との対談により、一層の課題の共有と解決のための次の一歩について議論を深めていく。

また、文部科学省科学技術人材育成費補助事業「ダイバーシティ研究環境実現イニシアティブ（牽引型）」の一環として本セッションを位置付け、筑波大学・日本IBM・産業技術総合研究所に所属する優秀な女性研究者・技術者を表彰する「TIDE Women’s Award」を実施することで、若手の特に優秀な女性をエンカレッジし、次世代のリーダーとしての成長を後押しすることも目指す。
