To celebrate the 50th commemorative year of ASEAN-Japan relations, the University of Tsukuba, in collaboration with SEAMEO, sets a special session in the Tsukuba Conference 2023. Under the theme: Commemorative session for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation -Innovative Educational Activities for the Sustainable Development of the Future Generation: Sharing the best practices from the SEAMEO region and Japan, the session will provide a platform to showcase the best practices of the innovative initiatives of education in the elementary and secondary level in the Southeast Asian countries and in Japan, and aims to identify ways for further collaborations. The winners of the SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award from the SEAMEO region and the Super Global Highschool from Japan will present their innovative activities for youth, educators and other stakeholders to discuss on how we as global citizens respond to the challenges in the new generation.

ASEAN-日本友好50周年を記念する年である2023年の筑波会議において、筑波大学教育開発国際協力センター（CRICED）は東南アジア教育大臣機構（SEAMEO）との協働により、今後の東南アジアと日本の次世代に向けたさらなる教育の質推進を目指す協働を図ることを目的としたセッションを企画する。ASEAN-日本友好協力５０周年記念特別セッション「次世代の持続的発展のための革新的な教育活動： SEAMEO域内と日本におけるベストプラクティスの共有」というサブテーマの下、東南アジア諸国と日本の初等・中等教育における革新的な取り組みの成功事例を共有し、グローバル市民として新世代の課題にどう対応するかについて、オンサイト・オンライン両方の参加者によって議論する場を提供する。
