We will introduce treatments developed in Japan in the fields of liver and pancreatic cancer, and report on the current status of photoimmunotherapy, which is expected to be a fourth method of cancer treatment.
There are also challenges to the dissemination and implementation of these technologies. Economic disparities become an issue because advanced technology and equipment are required. In addition, differences in culture and society lead to disparities in access to treatment. To address these challenges, efforts by each government through international cooperation from a global perspective are necessary, but education and training through personal exchanges through cooperation between medical institutions, organizations, and companies is also an important factor in improving the quality and fairness of medical care.
肝臓・膵臓がんの分野に焦点を当て日本発の最新の治療法を紹介すると共に、がん治療の第四の方法と期待される光免疫療法の現況について報告する。
これらの技術の普及や実践には課題もある。高度な技術と機器が必要なため、経済的な不均衡が問題となる。また、文化や社会の違いによる治療へのアクセス格差が生じる。このような課題に対処するためには、グローバルな視点での国際協力を通じた各国政府の努力も必要であるが、民間レベルでの医療機関、団体、企業の協力を介した人的交流による教育、訓練も医療の質と公平性を向上させる重要な要素である。
