Infectious diseases have always posed a threat to human beings. The development of therapeutics against important infectious diseases, including emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases like COVID-19, as well as chronic infectious diseases affecting millions of people, and drug-resistant bacteria, known as silent pandemics, is an urgent issue. In this session, we have invited researchers who are tackling the challenge of developing therapeutics for infectious diseases using various biotechnologies such as RNAs, chemical compounds, membrane vesicles, and phages. We will discuss the problems associated with current therapeutic drug development and explore the feasibility and challenges of new types of therapeutics.
